French Immersion

What is French Immersion?

French Immersion is a program of studies in which French is the language of instruction for a significant part of the school day.

French Immersion is a program designed specifically for English speaking children and their English speaking parents.

The objective of the program is full mastery of the English language, functional fluency in French, as well as an understanding and appreciation of the French culture.

What does it look like here at Dr. Brosseau School?

DELF French International Diplomacy Proficiency Diploma

Lakeland Catholic Schools, in partnership with Edmonton Catholic Schools is now offering the opportunity for immersion students to have their French language skills officially recognized. The Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française (DELF) is an official diploma from France’s national Ministry of Education. It is valid for life, awarded and recognized around the world.  The DELF officially certifies the ability of students to use the French language in real-life situations.

The test covers all four language skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). We are proud to offer this opportunity for students to get recognized for their efforts in continuing their education in a second language.
