Dr. Brosseau School Library
Library Learning Commons:

The new term for libraries in Alberta schools is Learning Commons, as the library is used for so much more than just taking out books. The term library is still used as it is familiar and relevant. Each class has library period that is dedicated to reading to self every week. Beyond that, the library learning commons is utilized by students for studying and group work. During the colder months and rainy days, there are various activities during recesses including silent reading, makerspace, and board games. We also have a book club for students once a week at lunchtime. The Scholastic book fair is held twice a year, in conjunction with parent/teacher interviews and the rewards from those fairs contribute to putting new books on our shelves!! Students can search for books on their own anytime by going to "library.lcsd150.ab.ca" and choosing Ecole Dr. Bernard Brosseau School. Our space is always changing as we try to provide the best environment for all of our students and staff at Dr. B!!
